REDS has been subcontracted by the Norwegian Geological Institute (NGI) to be part of the Sustainable and Complete Waste Management Solutions (SUWASO) project. REDS is to participate in plastic recycling as well as training of local personnel and provide oversite of the recycling facility in Mityana District. The project will be rolled out in the later part of 2021. NGI leads a Norwegian Retailers Environmental Fund project on total waste management solutions including plastic recycling, in tropical rural environments. The project will run from June 2021 to June 2024.

REDS was contracted in 2011 by the Conservation Farming Unit (CFU) Zambia to carry out Conservation Agriculture (CA) activities in Uganda under the Conservation Agriculture Regional Programme (CARP) funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Royal Norwegian Government. REDS was tasked with implementing CARP activities in 10 pilot districts of Uganda namely: Pallisa, Kween, Dokolo, Lira, Apac, Kyankwanzi, Mityana, Mubende, Kyenjojo, and Kasese.

REDS is a subcontractor on the researcher project “Climate Smart innovations in Agriculture in Uganda: Improved food security, livelihoods and soil carbon funded by the Norwegian Research Council. Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU) is the lead contractor with Norwegian Geotechnical Institute (NGI), Menon Economics, REDS, Makerere University & Gulu University forming the consortium of partners. REDS provides support through its existing extension services to train farmers in pigeon pea production, pea and biomass harvesting, and biochar production. This project started in early 2021 and is expected to go up to 2025.
